United Nation

The International organization that has 192 nations involved for member states. It was founded in 1945 after World War II. Organized for keep international peace and security and developing friendly relation between nations. Taking many action toward international issues such as war, poverty and human right. Formed with General Assembly, Security Council, International Court of Justice and many different organizations and assmblies. Current Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is Korean.

  • What issues does U.N. dealing with?
  • What is Secretary-General and what position that he in charge of?
  • How large is U.N.?
  • What kind of organization they have and what is their job?
  • What is General Assembly and What are they deciding?

    This is a good broad topic, but we need to make it a little more substantial.

    For example, why was the UN started, and by which countries? Previous to the UN, was there anything in place to promote peace and harmony? (for example, treaties?)

    In what wartime/peacetime events has the UN played a huge part? Has the existence of the UN prevented or promoted any conflict?

    Also, there are many who think the UN does more harm than good. Why do these people think this way?

    So, the UN is a good broad topic, but for the amount of writing that you need to do this semester, we need to do some deeper digging into the topic.

According to History of United Nation webpage, United Nation was started by 50 countries including United States, United Kingdom, and Soviet Union because the need of International peacekeeping organization after World War II. Before United Nation formed, there is organization which similar with UN called League of Nations. League of Nations was formed during First World War under Treaty of Versailles. However, because of League of Nations failed to prevent World War II, it replaced to United Nations.

  3. I need more research about it but I know that UN has Army called Peacekeepers. Peacekeepers are International military that could be send to any nation or warzone which threat international peace and security.

    For this question I need more research about it, too but I think any nations who can get any kind of benefits from abusing other countries security.
