Research Question: Why global poverty is being issue around the world? What efforts did international organizations put on to prevent global poverty and what is limitation of their efforts?

Thesis Statement: Many international relief organizations like the United Nations and the Red Cross confront this serious issue around the world. The United Nations has many programs focusing on reducing poverty around the world. For example, World Food Programme helped many poor countries’ children by sending aid to those countries. However, the limitation as an international organization, such as lack of sufficient funds and corruption disturb these activities.

Audience: Students & scholars who interested in global issues especially global poverty, employees of international organizations who working on that global poverty issues.

Purpose: to explain status of poverty around the world & analyze global organizations actions toward that issue.

In my opinion, people doesn't really know much about why they didn't get to learn about global poverty in depth at school. The fact that school doesn't touch global poverty issue for their subjects of school material because it is brutal reality and facts to know and this subject somehow consider as taboo.

Why does school doesn't go over global poverty issue that enlighten students view of the world?
What other global issues that related to global poverty?

I already have an source for first question but I need to find an article about global issues that related with global poverty.
I need the general information that global poverty and other global issues are related to one another.

How to "meaningfully incorporate" slideshow and podcast? Can you give me an example?
Is that mean like hyperlink the certain word that direct to my podcast and slideshow?
Is it possible to use the picture to incorporate slideshow and podcast?

Also, If my recommended reading is a book, Did I have to provide a link about that? What should I do?
Did I have to consider the length of description for recommended reading? Did I have to make it longer?

Group Work in class Nov. 9th

Everyone in the group have underlined thesis and topic sentences. Also, everyone in the group understand how to form in-text citation and APA style reference. Our group member ask each other to make sure that we got it right and everyone looks confident with their work.
However, Delisa who was absent last class need to catch up the stuff about podcast so she didn't work her slideshow yet. But, otherwise, everybody seems right on track.

For image, I have a extra time to search the image because I don't have revise the podcast.

Obviously, my topic for slideshow is pretty decent for finding image.
Still, I have many choice of picture, but I need to decide my content of slideshow.

Slideshow Main Point

My main point of slideshow is going to be the Relationship between Environmental Issues and Poverty.

Facebook comment - The relationship between environment change and poverty. Because of poverty, populations relied on livestock for survival. When one area started to be affected by desertification they would move for their livestock. Also, deforestation will be discussed.

My plan is first introduce some big issues in environment such as desertification and deforestation and then in content explain how poverty is affecting those issues. For example, deforestation of tropical rain forest in Brazil is caused by paper companies but it is also caused by poor peoples who lives around the forest that need lands to cultivate. These people put on the fire in the forest so that they can get rid of all the trees and plants important grains for their survival. This topic is fairly easy to find effective resources because there are ton of people who tried to resolve this global issue. Also, it is very effective to touch and relate poverty issue into environmental issue because it will bring attention of people who concerned about environmental issue to poverty issue which not many people realize the seriousness of the issue.

Podcast group work

Robert and I talked about our possible topic that he and I can use for 3~5 minutes podcast assignment. He and I both clearly know what we want to talk about our podcast.
Robert want to expand his point in the webtext about ethical issues of human cloning and I want to talk about how poverty driven people to piracy in Somalia. This could be our main point. We helped each other about our opening, content, and closing. Robert suggested me to start my overview with the introduce of issue which is piracy in Somalia and describe the poverty situation of Somalia. I think this expanding example of Somalia will well-suited with my webtext because it is reality example of poverty effects people lives.

Ethos, logos, and pathos appeals in the information about writing a podcast script. Ethos appeals by style of writing in this article which was numbering the important points of the information. This appeal make this article credible for those of who seek for information about podcast. Logos appeals in this article by more information links and checklists on the bottom of the page. finally, pathos appeals in the example sentences because it appeals good reason why or why not follow this information.

Peer Review & Conference

As both Jen and Mrs. Medley pointed out, I need to explain little bit more deeply about each limitation. For improve the point of limitation, I'm thinking about give an example of each limitation to help people to understand it better. Also, there are couple of things that I'm planning to do for enhance my point in MM webtext. First of all, after economic poverty explanation, I'm going to describe why economic poverty is big issue and give example of country that indicate this situation. Second, I am planning to reword some of the limitations, add new aspects and details to each of limits. finally, I am planning to improve my conclusion by providing suggestion of future relief activities.
Both Instructor conference and peer review was great encourage to me because I felt that I'm on right on track for everything. When I was try to finish my 1000 words webtext, I felt exact opposite feeling so, it was great to have the time to revised my current work. Also, Jen's peer review was give me a possible direction that I can consider about so, it was very helpful for me.

Instructor Conference

To be honest, I was really struggle with 1000 words draft in Sunday night because I ran out or couldn't think of details that I want to put in my draft. So, I was really discourage by that even though I made 1000 words somehow. However, the instructor conference with Mrs. Medley was really helpful to me because she gave me a good feedback and encourage me to continue to develop my work. She and I were not discuss whole lot of things because my conference was Wednesday which was I have a time to fix my problem that she point out and send me through Email. Also, It was very productive because I was able to discuss some of the details that I'm planning to add in my webtext with my instructor.

1000 words webtext group work

Today, Jennifer give some good suggestion that helps me to improve my 1000 words webtext. She thinks that I am on right track for the small stuff like chunk paragraph and images. However, she points out that makes a hyperlink on organization like World Food Programme and International Monetary Fund so that people who want to know more about the organization can get information about it. Also, she gives me good reword suggestion of sentence that I struggles on wording.

For the rhetorical appeals, we are both agrees that I used combination of all three appeals on my webtext. Also, we are agree that pathos is the strongest one because the image that I used touches people emotions. However, I also thinks that logos is stronger like pathos because the information that I provide is not always approach to people emotion.
